After Aston Villa swept past Manchester United 3-1 on the opening day of the Premier League season, Alan Hansen infamously said: “You can’t win anything with kids.
”The date was August 19, 1995, and the youngsters he was referring to were no less than the Neville brothers, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and a certain David Beckham – names known to but a few all those years ago.
However, that was all about to change – and how!Fast forward to a wet and windy afternoon in 2011 when a similar group of sporting kids were boarding the bus for an Exeter A-League encounter with Bath at The Rec.
