The Cardiff Blues made it two wins in 14 days over the Scarlets with a 13-10 away victory in the Pro14. The Blues led 7-0 after 15 minutes as Jarrod Evans took the ball up after a little show and go before getting a superb pass away to a flying Matthew Morgan to race in for the opening try.
Evans would add a penalty with a little under ten minutes to play in the first half to take the Blues into a 10-0 lead at the break. The boot of Leigh Halfpenny eventually got the Scarlets on the board after 48 minutes as they trailed 3-10. Evans restored the Blues ten point advantage with a penalty at the 56 minute mark.
The Scarlets crossed for their first try of the match after a clever cross kick from Steff Hughes into space on the right saw Blade Thomson collect to dive over in the corner. Halfpenny nailed the touchline conversion to make it a three point ball game with just over ten minutes remaining.
The Blues however managed to control territory in the final ten minutes which saw the Scarlets pick up a late yellow card, with Kieran Hardy sent off after a deliberate knock on. This allowed the Blues to close out the match for an impressive away win over their Welsh rivals.
