Good afternoon and welcome to Ultimate Rugby's live coverage of the final round of the Six Nations Championship. In the first of today's game Wales take on Italy in Cardiff in a bid to secure a second place finish after their aspirations were crushed by a defeat to England last week. Skipper Sam Warburton is absent due to injury and in his place Dan Lydiate leads the side.
Italy are yet to record a victory in this years Championship. They suffered an 8 try rout to Ireland last time out and with today being the last game of Jacque Brunel's reign they will be keen to finish on a high. Kick off is fast approaching in Cardiff so stay tuned for updates on all the action.
How can he give the youth ago, they was playing last night for the grand slam first time it ever been done, I don't think they would give up that opportunity to play in a pointless game today
Disappointed with Gatlands picks this week. Understand they need to make up for the performance against us last week, but he should have give the youth a go... Italy look terrible at the moment!
yea ok fair enough but just a straight swap would seem ridiculous!
yea ok fair enough but just a straight swap would seem ridiculous!
It would also make those wooden spoon games way more interesting. God knows we need that!
If they're 'more capable' they'd have no trouble winning a playoff - seems fair. I like it. Better option than expanding, keep the top tier for the top sides.
Talk of giving other nations the opportunity to develop isn't rubbish. A play off home and away fixture for loser of 6N vs winner of second tier for promotion/relegation from 6N is needed to grow the game in Europe
Italy should of beat France have come very close to beating other teams we all know there capable more so than Georgia anyway talk of swapping them is rubbish!
Like a relegation/promotion system? Either that or they should simply just expand the 6 nations.
