Otago hold on for a 27-20 semi final win over Bay of Plenty. Otago led 14-6 at the break and scored early in the second half, but Bay of Plenty fought to the bitter end as they crossed for two second half tries to set up a nervy finish. However, Otago held on for the win which sets up a home final for them against the winner of Wellington and North Harbour.
