31-24 or 49-33 on aggregate , Newcastle have earned their promotion to be up playing with the big boys next season. This is a huge step forward for the northern England Club who will face the likes of Leicster Tigers and the Harlequins. A great send off for fly half Gopperth who earn himself Man of the Match as he moves onto Amlin and Rabo winners Leinster next season.
Just 10 minutes to go and Newcastle seem to have broken away with a 13 point advantage. Blues having used alot of their bench will look to finish strong.
After numerous phases the Blues can find no way through and revert to claiming the 3 points to leave just 10 points difference on aggregate

Just as we felt the Blues were dominating the score board the Falcons come right back with numerous phases in the Blues 22. Tait has the final touch and uses his strength to barge through 2 tackles and touch down for his sides second try of the night.
Sharp gets the first 3 points of the second half. 6 from 6 place kicks combined with a drop goal has decreased the aggregate to just 5 point which separate the teams.
Half time here in Newcastle and the aggregate score is in favour of the home side by 35-27 with just 1 point separating the sides in this second leg game. The Falcons started off well however the final 15 minutes were dominated by the Blues who with great support play managed to be frequent visitors into the Falcons 22. Lets see how this 1 point gap can be changed in the final 40 minutes.
The last 10 minutes has been all Blues with phase after phase leading to an eventual penalty which the Blues will be happy to play for all day as they can rely on the boot of Sharp.
