Hello and welcome to Ultimate Rugby's coverage of the the opening match of the Currie Cup between the Griquas and the defending champions, Western Province. WP new head coach, John Dobson, has selected 5 debutants in their match day squad, however they have retained 13 of the members of the squad who won the tournament last year. Griquas may not have the depth that WP do, but they have proven to be a dark horse in the competition as they tend to cause an upset or two every year. Traditionally this fixture, when played in Kimberley, is very tight affair with less than a try being the difference between the two over the past few years.
