Good afternoon and welcome to Ultimate Rugby's live coverage of the opening game of the 2016 Six Nations Championships as France take on Italy at Stade de France.
This is set to be an interesting encounter, with France playing under a new head coach Guy Noves. They will want to expel memories of their lackluster World Cup campaign and look to assert themselves as a powerhouse of European Rugby once again. Noves has promised to revive the French flair of old and what better occasion to do so than in the opening game in Paris.
Italy fared poorly in the World Cup and failed to reach the quarter finals once again suffering a large defeat to France in the group stages. They are desperate to prove their worth as a top tier European side and with this being Jacques Brunel's final championship in charge the Italians will want to finish his spell on a positive note.
As with all internationals we can expect huge physicality up front and a step up in intensity. With kick off fast approaching stay tuned for updates on all the action from Paris.
