Brian O'Driscoll making his final appearance in an Ireland jersey today and his 15th appearance against France. He has scored 8 tries against France in his career. Just under 7 minutes to go as the teams make their way out onto the field.
A huge 80 minutes of Rugby on the way in the final match of the 2014 6 Nations Championship. It could go either way. Will the Green army of Ireland be celebrating in Paris or will Sweet Chariot be ringing out around Rome tonight.
20 minutes to go before kick off and the place is buzzing around the stadium. Ireland know what they have to do after England failed to get a big enough win against Italy. As for France for them to win the championship they will need to beat Ireland by more than 70 points, which is a huge ask.
French coach Saint-Andre continues to ignore the outcry from the French supporters and not bring Morgan Parra back into the team as the former Toulon coach makes four changes to his side from last week's dogged display against Scotland. He make 2 changes in the pack with Racing man Szarzewski returning the the side at hooker replacing Mach who had a miserable night with his throwing from the lineout. The other change is the return of Picamoles who was dropped for last weeks game after being disrespectful to referee Alain Rolland when France were beaten by Wales. In the back line Plisson is dropped from the squad completely and Castres man Remi Tales takes his place at outhalf. While in the centre Mermoz is dropped to the bench and is replaced by the hero from the match against England Gael Fickou and the 19 year old Toulouse man will looking to use his electric speed and make a huge difference in this match. As for Ireland there was rumours that Tommy Bowe would be brought back into the squad for today but Schmidt has stuck with the same backline since round 1 and Bowe does not even make the bench. the only change in the starting XV is the return of O'Mahony who has recovered from a hamstring injury with Henderson dropping to the bench. Also on the bench Ian Madigan is prefered to Paddy Jackson as the sub Flyhalf and Donncha Ryan is once again left out from the 23.
