Bath definitely the stronger side thus far. 14 minutes gone and the team in red and white have seen little of the ball.Still only 3-0 however
First scrum of the game, Bath get the edge but the visitors manage to hold on to possession! Rupert Harden lucky not to be penalised for coming up!
Bath pile the pressure on Gloucester pinning them firmly inside their own 22. Eventually they earn themselves a penalty and Ford converts a confidence building 3! 3-0 to the hosts
Clever kick from George Ford brings Bath deep into opposition territory
Teams enter the field
Rain extremely heavy at the Rec, suggesting 80 minutes old school rugby ahead of us. Numbers 1-10 will take on an even greater level of significance in the outcome of this encounter.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Aviva Premiership with Bath hosting Gloucester at the Rec. Bath and England lock Dave Attwood has returned from injury and starts against Gloucester this evening. Attwood has been out of action since Bath's 33-18 win over London Irish and was previously rated as a doubt for the autumn Tests. But he was retained in England's squad for the November internationals and makes his comeback for Bath in this clash. He starts alongside Anthony Watson and Rob Webber who have also been out of action since September. In the centres, Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph line-up while George Ford is at fly-half. For Gloucester, they make several changes to the side that lost to Munster on Sunday. Only six players are retained in the starting line up. The front-row of Dan Murphy, Darren Dawidiuk and Rupert Harden stays the same while Jonny May, Ryan Mills and Mike Tindall keep their spots in the backs. Freddie Burns and Matt Kvesic were released from England training camp on Wednesday and are named at fly-half and openside flanker respectively. James Simpson-Daniel will make a record 183rd Premiership appearance for Gloucester, overtaking Peter Buxton in the process. Nice to be back to some Premiership action after the European break, we should have an interesting clash on our hands this evening.Kick off not too far away now, I hope you enjoy the coverage!
