Since becoming the youngest member of the 2012-13 England Sevens squad, James Lightfoot-Brown has played in the Dubai and George tournaments. He signed as an 18-year-old from Exeter Chiefs after spending a year in the Devon club’s academy ranks. He joined Ben Ryan’s set-up after helping England to lift the Sevens title at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011. Earlier, a try off the bench launched his England U18 career in the 29-12 win over Ireland in December 2010 and he appeared in all seven subsequent England U18 games that season against Italy U19, Scotland, Wales and Ireland before touring Down Under to play against Australia Academy U19 and Australia A Schools. He was a ‘Test’ try-scorer in the 46-19 victory over Australia Schools in Sydney.
