Mata'u made her first class debut in 2013 for Counties Manukau while a student at Papakura High School as the Heat returned to top-level rugby and has made a big contribution to the team since.
The youngest member of the 2016 Black Ferns squad, she already had plenty of experience when she played her first Test.
Mata'u was named as one of the 2017 New Zealand Rugby Almanack's Promising Players of the Year.
She has 4 Test caps heading into the 2017 Women's World Cup.
