Amy Wilson-Hardy

13th Oct 1991 1.68m/73kg Outside Centre

Starting at prop and moving to centre is far from the usual rugby trend but Poole-born Amy did just that for the Worthing U15 team. Her initial match was in the front row before she quickly found her way into the mid-field.

She was educated at Our Lady of Sion Junior and Worthing College where she benefited from the coaching of Ben Coulson before reading Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath.

Amy was chosen in the 12-strong GB Women’s sevens squad for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She went on to score two tries for Team GB in the historic event. She also captained the sevens side to a third-place finish in the second leg of the Rugby Europe Grand Prix Sevens Series in Malemort, France.

Amy, a keen violinist, joined Bristol in 2010 and was named as the club’s most improved player and the players’ player for 2012/13. It was a golden time for Amy, who marked her debut with a try in the 18-17 win over South Africa in Denver in August 2013. She plays her club rugby for Bristol.

Wilson was named in the England squad for the 2017 6 Nations, later being called up to the England squad that would participate at the 2017 Women's World Cup, where she looks to add to her 7 international caps.
