Alan was appointed Player/Coach at the start of the 2014/15 season, a campaign when he took his games tally to an amazing 332. Along with Gavin Cattle, he was honoured to play for the Barbarians in the Remembrance Day fixture against the Combined Services at Bath.
He was also England Counties Forwards Coach in June 2014 for their two match tour in Georgia.
In the 2015/16 season, Alan took his games tally for the Pirates to 352.
