Toua was born in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea before moving to Queensland with his family as a boy. He attended the famed Rugby nursery Anglican Church Grammar School or ‘Churchies’ as it is affectionately known.
It was whilst at Churchies that Toua blossomed in to the electric player he is today, firstly playing with the Queensland Schoolboys and then progressing through to the Australian Schoolboys in 2006 and 2007.
Following his performances at the JWC in 2011, Toua immediately linked up with Queensland Reds.
Toua scored a sensational try for the Reds in the Super Rugby 2014 season opener, injury restricted Toua to only 10 appearances during his time at the Reds.
Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham, enticed Toua back from France a few years later. Upon his return to Australia in July 2015, Toua joined the UC Vikings for the 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship season and in only four appearances he certainly left his mark on the competition.
Toua has played 14 times for the Brumbies in 2017 Super Rugby season scoring two tries. In February 2018 the Reds signed Aidan Toua ahead of the 2018 Super Rugby season, he returns to the side that he left in 2014.
Toua made 13 appearances scoring one try in his first season back with the Reds taking his Super Rugby cap tally to 53 (23 for the Reds).
In September 2018, he extended his stay at the Reds for another season.
