Born in Plymouth, England, James is a towering second row who has represented Wales on several occasions despite his English roots. Having spent his early days playing at Pontypridd RFC, James signed with the Cornish Pirates before making the move to Gloucester in 2007. James made his debut for Wales in 2007 and traveled to the World Cup later that year with the national squad.
