Savage is well known to followers of rugby in the Gloucester area having skippered Hartpury RFC to the National Three South West title in 2010-11.
He achieved this whilst training with the Gloucester first team throughout the season and also made frequent appearances in the Aviva Premiership Rugby A League.
2011-12 saw him feature regularly at first team level as he handled the leap to the highest level of English club rugby with aplomb making 18 appearances in total.
He impressed even more in 2012-13, cementing a place in the starting XV, whether in the second row or at blindside flanker.
Tom captained the club in the 2013-14 season, and his experience and versatility have seen him as one of the first names on the teamsheet since.
He signed a new long term contract with the club in July 2015 and continued his good club form in 2015-16 picking up the Bit Hit Award at the club's End of Season Awards dinner.
At the end of the 2018/19 season, Savage left Gloucester to signed for Top League side Suntory Sungoliath.
