During the 2015 Super Rugby season, Tolu made an appearance for the Hurricanes.
After emerging through the Tawa club side, he quickly adapted to the demands of first-class rugby and by the end of the season 2015 season, he was being looked at by several Super Rugby coaches.
Fahamokioa trained with the Hurricanes squad and played for the development side against the Crusaders Knights in Porirua.
In April 2017, he was named in the Provincial Barbarians side to face the British & Irish Lions in their tour opener in Whangarei on June 3.
His performances for Wellington in 2017 earned him a Super Rugby contract with the Hurricanes for the 2018 season.
In August 2019, he was named in the new Major League Rugby club the New England Free Jacks for the 2019 season.
