Rugby is in the genes when it comes to the Wilsons with scrumhalf Teddy Wilson, son of former Wallabies captain David Wilson.
Unlike his old man, who was a 105-game Queensland flanker, Teddy Wilson is a wiry and skilful halfback who broke into the Waratahs senior squad in 2022 at the age of 19. His older brother Harry is also a back at the Waratahs.
Injuries early on during the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season, granted WIlson an opportunity with the senior side as he was named on the bench for his debut against the Rebels in round five.
Wilson is a highly rated talent who starred in rugby and rugby league as a junior, and after starring at halfback for the Manly Sea Eagles’ SG Ball team was offered a three-year deal to stay at the NRL club. But the youngster chose rugby and has been training with the NSW Academy since leaving the Kings’ school in 2020.
