Born in Bristol, England, Betty is an industrious flanker who plies his trade with Worcester Warriors in the English Premiership. A dynamic operator, Betty joined the Warriors set up in July of 2011 having previously spent time at the Cornish Pirates.
The Worcester Warriors flanker has been suspended for two weeks following an independent Disciplinary Hearing arising from his club's European Rugby Challenge Cup, Round 4 match against Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade.
Warriors centurion Sam Betty will retire from rugby at the end of the season when his contract at Sixways comes to an end.
The flanker, who joined Warriors from Cornish Pirates in 2011, has made 120 appearances during his time at Sixways and was instrumental during the Club's promotion-winning Championship season in 2014/15, scoring 18 tries in 22 appearances.
Betty was voted Players' Player of the Year in 2012 before being named True Warriors and Supporters Player of the Season in 2014.
Off the pitch, the 30-year-old has undertaken the role of Player Ambassador for Official Charity Partner Acorns Children's Hospice in recent years.
He has been an integral part of the work the Club have done with the charity and received recognition for his efforts when he was shortlisted for the prestigious Aviva Community Player of the Season award in 2016.
