Ruben Schoeman attended the might Grey College in Bloemfontein which is a powerhouse school for Springboks. After school he attended the University of Free State.
Just before making his move to the Lions in 2019, he was at the SWD Eagles.
Schoeman made his Currie Cup debut for the Golden Lions in July 2019, coming on as a replacement lock in their opening match of the 2019 season against the Pumas.
