Cabannes' professional rugby career began with Mont-de-Marsan in 2002, before he spent three years with Pau.
He then joined Biarritz and moved to Castres in 2009, where he spent seven successful seasons.
After the end of his contract at Castres in July 2016, Cabannes decided to retire because he "could not find a new club."
