A former test centre turned coach, Robbie Fleck enjoyed a fine playing career for the Stormers, Western Province and Bath.
As a schoolboy at Bishops College Fleck played First XV alongside former Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs before enjoying a stellar career with the Stormers and Western Province.
A skilful, hard-running centre Fleck won 31 test caps for the Springboks between 1999 and 2002. He made his international debut in the Tour of the UK & Ireland in 1998 and went on to make his test debut in 1999 against Italy.
After falling out of favour with the Springboks Fleck left the Stormers to join Bath in 2003 where he finished his career after one season with the club.
Following his playing career, Fleck moved into coaching and went on to coach the Stormers in 2016 after stepping in to fill the void left by Eddie Jones, who left the Cape franchise to coach England.
Under Fleck’s tutelage, the Stormers reached the Super Rugby quarter-finals in 2016.
The side would reach the quarter-finals again a year later but after failing to reach the playoffs in consecutive years in 2018 & 2019 Fleck was replaced as the Stormers head coach by John Dobson.
