Raymond 'Ray' Niuia is a New Zealand-born Samoan rugby union player known for his skills as a hooker. He currently plays for Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby and represents North Harbour in the Bunnings NPC. Niuia has previously played for the Highlanders and the Blues as well.

In the Bunnings NPC, Niuia has made 26 appearances for North Harbour over four seasons, contributing 10 points. He also made his debut for the Tasman Mako in 2018, playing 10 matches and helping the team secure a third-place finish in the premiership division. Niuia missed the 2019 and 2020 Mitre 10 Cup due to commitments with Samoa and an injury, respectively. During this time, the Mako won back-to-back premiership titles. In 2021, Niuia joined the Manawatu Turbos for the Bunnings NPC.

In Super Rugby, Niuia was named in the 2019 Highlanders squad and played one game before transitioning to the Blues for the 2020 season. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury during his debut for the Blues. Niuia returned from injury in 2021 and made appearances for the Blues in the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman competition, including the final against the Highlanders. He then signed with Moana Pasifika for the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season.

Niuia has also represented Samoa, being named in their 2019 Rugby World Cup training squad and subsequently making the final squad. He has competed alongside fellow hookers Kurt Eklund and James Parsons, showcasing his skills and versatility on the international stage.

With his lively playing style and contributions to various teams, Niuia has established himself as a talented hooker in both domestic and international rugby.
