Olly Woodburn, born on November 18, 1991, is an English rugby union player who currently plays for Exeter Chiefs. He primarily plays as a wing and centre.
Woodburn began his career in the Bath Rugby academy and made his senior debut for the club on October 15, 2011, in a game against Newport Gwent Dragons in the LV= Cup. He made an immediate impact by scoring a try just two minutes into the match.
In January 2015, Woodburn made the switch to local rivals Exeter Chiefs, starting from the 2015-16 season. He made the move with the aim of securing more regular playing time in the first team.
During the 2015-2016 Aviva Premiership season, Woodburn played a crucial role in helping Exeter Chiefs reach their first-ever Premiership final at Twickenham. He scored eight tries in 24 appearances, including a standout performance against Worcester Warriors where he scored three tries and was named the man of the match.
The following season, Woodburn played a key role in Exeter Chiefs winning their first English Rugby Union Premiership title. He helped the team secure victory against Wasps in the final.
Additionally, he received the club's Player of the Year award and was nominated for the Premiership's Player of the Year accolade. Woodburn continued to excel in the 2017-2018 season, scoring 11 tries in 27 appearances.
Since joining Exeter Chiefs, Woodburn has made over 130 first-team appearances and is nearing 50 tries for the club. He has been a consistent performer and has played an integral role in the team's success, including winning a second Premiership title in 2020 against Wasps at a rainy Twickenham.
