A product of Ardscoil Ris, Limerick, Sherry's career has progressed well since leaving school.
A hooker by trade, Sherry is one of the more dynamic No.2's in the British and Irish isles. Having made his provincial debut in the red of Munster in 2009, he then featured in the Heineken Cup that same year before earning a call up as emergency cover for Rory Best at the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Despite not featuring at the tournament, Sherry has since been involved in several Irish squads and has run out for the Irish Wolfhounds on numerous occasions.
In January 2016, Sherry signed a two-year contract extension with Munster.
He heads into the 2018/19 season with 101 caps for the Irish province & 60 points scored.
As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Sherry has had 20 European Cups appearances scoring 4 tries and 20 points.
