Like Adrian Flavin, Swift was born in England to Irish parentage. Michael’s parents hail from Wexford and Dublin respectively. Swift began his career with English club side Richmond R.F.C, where impressive performances earned him a season long move to Leeds Tykes. Swift’s former coach John Kingston took the flanker across the Irish sea to Galwegians in 2000. Since then, Swift has become a model of consistency for Connacht and has the honour of being the most capped player in Connacht’s history.
