Faddes grew up in South Otago and has been playing for Otago since 2011, debuting against North Harbour.
He concentrated on fifteens rugby in 2015 after having had a stint with Sevens where he was called into New Zealand Sevens team in 2013 and ended up helping them to a world series win in London.
He has played most of his rugby at wing or fullback but made the centre position his own during the 2015 ITM cup campaign for Otago where he had a stand-out season, using his pace and strength to score a number of tries throughout the season.
Faddes had a fantastic debut season with the Highlanders that saw him play in all 16 of their games scoring 10 tries.
The Highlanders announced that the versatile back put pen to paper on a new deal with the former Super Rugby champions, re-signing until 2019.
He went into the 2018 Super Rugby season with 27 Super Rugby matches to his name and 16 tries.
In May 2019, Faddes signed with Irish Province Ulster and joined the club following 45 appearances for the Highlanders.
Faddes can play across the backline and also has international experience, having represented New Zealand at 7s level.
He had put in some impressive performances prior to the season being halted.
AS of May 2020, the Otago-born winger has made 12 appearances for Ulster and has scored 35 points.
