Starting his career at Manawatu Turbos Keepa Mewett, moved to Bay of Plenty after the 2014 ITM Cup.
He has since become a regular starter in the Bay of Plenty side and was chosen in the NZ Provincial Barbarians XV to face the British and Irish Lions.
Mewett continued to perform for Bay of Plenty during the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup as his side made the Championship final.
His performances led to him being named in the Maori All Blacks squad for their end of year tour.
