Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe has been on the rugby scene for quite a while now and first appeared in Europe with Sale Sharks in 2006, he was a hit in Sale and became captain in the 2008/09 season. However at the end of the season he decided to move onto pastures new with Toulon.

He has excelled in Toulon in a back 3 which includes the likes of Steffon Armitage and Juan Smith, and has won the Heineken Cup and Top 14 titles with Toulon. Lobbe has had numerous caps for Argentina and became captain in 2008.

In June 2017, Fernández Lobbe put pen to paper on a new one-year contract with Top 14 giants Toulon.

Lobbe first joined the club back in 2009 from Sale Sharks and extended his stay with Toulon for another year at the end of the 2016/17 season.

A former Argentina captain, Lobbe retired from international rugby following Argentina' exit from the 2015 Rugby World Cup in the semi-finals, having won 71 caps.

During his time with Toulon, Lobbe has won three European Cups and a Top 14 title.

At the end of the 2017/18 season Lobbe announced his retirement from the game leading the Barbarians to a historic victory over England in his final professional match.

The former Argentine captain has since moved into a coaching role within Toulon.

He left the club when Patrice Collazo joined the club and took up a role with the Argentine national team.
