A provincial legend, Joe Royal has been play Provincial rugby in New Zealand since 2009.
A solid hooker, Royal has occasionally shifted around the front. Having played for North Harbour in 2009, Royal joined the Bay of Plenty Rugby in 2013 and spending 4 seasons with the Steamers.
After moving back home to Auckland in 2017 as an injury replacement for the Blues and is now in his third season with the Counties Manukau Steelers in the Mitre 10 Cup.
He stayed with Bay of Plenty until the end of the 2016 Mitre 10 Cup season before signing for Counties Manukau.
Royal has represented the Maori All Blacks over the years and made yet another move in 2020 signing for Auckland.
