Born in Paris, Diarra lifted the Top 14 title with Castres in 2013 after starting his career with Montauban.
He started his career at Montauban in 2005 and went on to represent the side on 89 occasions scoring 25 points before signing a deal with Castres in 2009.
He made his international debut for France in their fourth match of the 2008 Six Nations Championship against Italy on 9 March 2008. This was his only cap.
After 7 seasons at Castres, Diarra left the side following 155 appearances and 35 points scored.
A career at Section Paloise soon followed in 2016 but he made one appearance before jetting off to club A.S. Vaureenne the following year, where he earned 5 caps
Diarra retired from rugby in 2018.
He died suddenly on 18 December 2019 due to a stroke at the age of 36.
