Having started his sporting career with boxing, Kolingar converted to rugby and joined the Racing 92 pathway.
He was quickly spotted by the France team and represented their U16s side.
He went on to become part of the French team that beat the Junior All Blacks at the semi-finals of the 2017 U20 World Cup.
The 2018/19 season saw him being loaned to PROD2 team Vannes before returning to the Racing 92 jersey.
As of September 2020, he has made 21 appearances for the Top 14 team and has scored 10 points.
Kolingar's mobility around the pitch and work at the breakdown is a highlight of his game, this caught the eye of the national selectors who handed him a test call up at the age of 22 in November 2020.
