Goddard was identified at school as a talented halfback and was selected in the Australian Schoolboy side two years in a row, in 2014 & 2015.
In 2016 Goddard represented the Western Sydney Rams in the NRC and was named in as the Melbourn Rebels U20 vice-captain for the 2017 Super U20s competition.
He impressed with the U20 side and was called into the Rebels senior side during an injury crisis in May and made his Super Rugby debut against the Waratahs.
His performances with the Rebels U20 side led to him being named in the Australian U20 side for the World Rugby U20s Championships in Georgia.
In June 2017 he signed a contract extension with the Rebels that will see him stay with the Rebels until the end of 2019
Goddard won two titles in two seasons, in the 2020 Shute Shield Premiership winning season, and LA Giltinis triumph in their debut season in MLR in 2021.
Goddard was a revelation in the MLR where he was named in the all-MLR dream team in both 2021 and 2022 seasons and named the Gilitinis MVP for their recent 2022 campaign.
He returned to Australia signing a deal with the Waratahs ahead od the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season.
