Devante was introduced to rugby in Dubai at the age of ten and went on to represent his school, Jumeirah College, and Dubai Exiles.
Whilst in Dubai, Onojaife was named Player of the Tournament for his impressive performances at the Abu Dhabi Sevens and was also awarded Coaches’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season at Jumeirah College in 2014.
Coming through the Saints Junior Academy, Onojaife now joins the Senior Academy after studying at Stowe School – where he was the rugby team’s vice-captain and pack leader during his final year.
During the 2015/16 season, Onojaife moved positions from No.8 to loosehead for Saints, with his first-team debut coming in a 24-16 win at Kingston Park in an Anglo-Welsh Cup against Newcastle.
Onojaife has also gained international honours, representing Scotland at Under-20s level during the 2018 Six Nations.
In June 2020, the flanker left Franklin’s Gardens with six senior Club appearances to his name.
