Dave was a standout preseason performer after graduating from the QAS Reds Academy in 2012 with flashes of training brilliance showing just why coach Ewen McKenzie was eager to bring the young lock into the fulltime squad.
He was an impressive performer before joining the Reds and represented Australia at both U20 (2009) and Schoolboys (2007) level and was an integral part of the Sydney University 2010 premiership-winning Shute Shield team.
In search of further opportunity, David made the move north from Sydney to Brisbane in 2012 to join the QAS Reds Academy which is a proven pathway for players to develop and take their games to the next level.
Dave was one of a number of QAS Reds Academy graduates to make a step-up into a fulltime contract last year, joining the likes of Jono Lance and Aidan Toua. Having won the NRC with Brisbane City in 2014 and another good season with the Reds in 2015 he signed with the Sharks for the 2016 Super Rugby season
He returned to his hometown of Sydney to join the Waratahs prior to the 2017 Super Rugby season.
McDuling has 13 Super Rugby caps since his debut in 2014.
