Hailing from the Blackpool area of England, Day is a towering lock forward standing at just shy of 2 metres in height. An industrious lock forward, Day spent much of his early career at Sale Sharks before enjoying a brief stint with Stade Francais in Paris.
Having represented England at several underage levels, Day signed a contract with Northampton Saints in 2008 and became an integral member of their squad.
In 2014 he was voted Northampton Saints Player of the year as part of the 2013/2014 Double Winning Squad.
In April 2018, Day announced he would retire at the end of the 2017/18 season.
He retires with 226 appearances to his name in the Black, Green and Gold jersey – also scoring 16 tries along the way.
