After a successful season anchoring Eastern Suburbs Shute Shield scrum, tighthead prop Archer Holz has made the move down the Hume to join the Brumbies.
He was a standout prospect in Sydney’s premier club competition, catching Dan McKellar’s eye with his raw physicality and thirst for set-piece.
The King’s School product comes to Canberra with the makings of a top-flight tighthead and at 189cm and 128kg, Holz certainly has the raw materials to cut it with the big boys, and with Wallaby Allan Alaalatoa to learn from, as well as Laurie Fisher, Holz has found the perfect home to reach his potential.
With hard work and some peppering in club rugby, the Brumbies may have found a hidden gem in the country prop.
