The giant man from Ulster made his debut for the Ulster province in the 2005 season. At 6ft 7in, Caldwell is a strong lineout operator and a powerful ball carrier in the loose. After developing his skill set at Ulster, Caldwell made the journey across the Irish Sea to English side Bath in the summer of 2011. Caldwell has progressed through the Irish set up having played for the U20s, and the 'A' side before making his international debut on Ireland's summer tour of North America in 2009.
