Rameka Poihipi, born on 14 October 1998 in New Zealand, is a talented rugby union player who represents the Chiefs in Super Rugby and Canterbury in the Mitre 10 Cup. His preferred position on the field is centre. Poihipi attended Hamilton Boys High School in Hamilton, where he had the honor of captaining the 1st XV, although a citation is needed to confirm this.

Poihipi has been a part of the Canterbury team since 2019, showcasing his skills and contributing to the squad's success. On 5 December 2020, he made his debut for the Māori All Blacks in a one-off match against Moana Pasifika in Hamilton, a significant achievement for him as a player of Ngāti Whakaue descent.

His rugby journey began with notable performances for the Chiefs Under 18s side, which earned him a spot in the New Zealand Barbarians team in 2016. In the same year, Poihipi led the Hamilton Boys' High School first XV to victory in the Chiefs Cup, further demonstrating his leadership and playing abilities.

In 2017, Poihipi was selected to represent the New Zealand Under 20s squad, showcasing his potential at the national level.
