Before giving rugby a go-ahead, Fou had intentions of playing volleyball at the Olympics and held a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport before shoulder injuries forced him to give forced him away from the game as a teenager.
Fou, through a friend's convincing, took on rugby and scored four tries on debut.
National sevens coach Michael O’Connor spotted him and called him into his squad for the 2011 Gold Coast Sevens.
Since then he became an integral cog of Australia’s team.
In July 2016, he signed a one-year deal with the Rebels before switching leagues to join Sydney Rays in the NRC.
2019 saw him sign a deal with the Western Force.
