Born and raised in Toowoomba, Queensland, Faessler is a decent of former Wallaby Vince Bermingham, a front rower like his grandson. Faessler has already been acknowledged for his leadership on and off the rugby field representing Queensland Schools in 2015 as well as 2016 when he was captain.
Following impressive performances in 2016, Faessler also gained selection and was captain of the 2016 Australian Schools Barbarians and subsequently spent 2017 with the Queensland Reds U20s.
He then went on to represent the Queensland Country in the 2019 National Rugby Championship.
Faessler was named in the Reds squad for the 2021 Super Rugby AU season.
In the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific season, Faessler played 12 games for the Reds where he made 41 tackles, running over 50 meters with ball in hand, averaging 2.9m per carry.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Faessler has been named in the training squad for Australia.
