Former British Army lock Lewis Bean signed on with Northampton Saints during the summer of 2019 after trialling with the Club during the 2018/19 season.
Rifleman Bean went on two tours of Afghanistan – serving in Helman Province and Kabul – during his time in the military services, but also worked his way up through the Army’s age-grade teams and featured in the 100th anniversary match between the Army and Navy at Twickenham in 2017.
The 129kg lock balanced his military career while playing for Moseley in National One, before going on loan to Worcester Warriors at the start of the 2018/19 season and featuring for the Sixways outfit in the Gallagher Premiership.
From there he landed his switch to Northampton, representing the Wanderers twice before signing on full time at Franklin’s Gardens ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Bean was loaned to Glasgow Warriors before signing a permanent deal with the Scottish club. He made 15 first team appearances in Black, Green and Gold.
