Hacjivah Dayimani, a former Jeppe Boys High School student, is a South African rugby player known for his versatility and explosive style of play. He has represented various teams throughout his career, showcasing his talent as a flanker and lock, while also providing backline cover due to his exceptional speed.
Dayimani first made his mark in 2015 when he represented the Golden Lions Craven Week side after his time at Jeppe Boys High School. His performances caught the attention of selectors, leading to his inclusion in the SA Schools team.
In 2016, Dayimani joined the Golden Lions Rugby Union and continued to develop his skills. His potential was evident as he earned a spot in the Junior Springbok training squad in 2017, preparing for the U20 Rugby World Cup.
The following year, Dayimani made his Super Rugby debut for the Lions after being included in the squad. His dynamic playing style and contributions on the field quickly made an impact.
In August 2019, he signed a new two-year deal with the Lions, solidifying his commitment to the team. However, an exciting opportunity arose when he received a call from SA 7's coach Neil Powell to join the squad for the 2019/2020 season. He made his senior debut for the SA Invitational side in Dubai, displaying his skills in the shorter format of the game.
Unfortunately, Dayimani's dream of making his Blitzboks debut was halted by an ankle injury, preventing him from participating in the Cape Town Sevens in December 2019. Despite the setback, his determination remained unwavering.
As of May 2020, Dayimani has amassed 29 Super Rugby appearances and has contributed 15 points to his team's cause through his performances on the field.
In July 2021, Dayimani decided to return to his roots and signed a long-term deal with Western Province, joining the esteemed team and continuing his rugby journey. With his versatility, athleticism, and drive to succeed, Dayimani is set to make a significant impact for Western Province and further his career in South African rugby.
