Impressive tight-head prop Geoff Cross made his Scotland debut against Wales in the 2009 Six Nations. Unfortunately for Cross, his debut was marred as he was replaced due to injury. Cross, who is a qualified doctor, began his career with Border Reivers, where he spent three years(2003-2006) before he joined Edinburgh.
Since his move to Edinburgh, Cross has become one of the league’s foremost scrummagers, which has seen him win seventeen Scotland caps, including a try against New Zealand in 2012 and a man of the match gong against Ireland in 2011. Previous to his senior debut, Cross played for Scotland’s A’s and U-21’s. Cross earned himself 130 caps at Edinburgh as well as scoring 6 tries in the process.
He currently has 8 caps under his belt for London Irish as well as 28 caps for Scotland. He has been included in the Scottish squad for the upcoming Six Nations Championship in 2015.
In May 2016, Cross announced his retirement from professional rugby to return to a career in medicine.
