Connacht secured the signing of highly rated South African hooker Ethienne Reynecke in 2011. The Jo’burg born man joined Super 14 side the Lions at the tender age of 17 and instantly began to make an impression. Ethienne, in his last game for the Lions, had the honour of playing against the British and Irish Lions. In the summer of 2009, Reynecke joined big spending London club Saracens. Reynecke spent two seasons with Saracens, although he joined the Stormers on a six week loan during the 2010-2011 season. Ethienne’s main attribute is his tremendous line breaking ability.
