A sporting all-rounder in his youth, Barrow was initially part of both Barnsley’s and Manchester United’s football academies, as well as running cross-country to a high level.

But having focused on rugby and captained England’s U16 and U18 age groups, Barrow made his senior debut for Yorkshire in the 2010/11 European Challenge Cup.

Standing at 6’ 8”, Barrow naturally impressed, joining England’s U20s set-up in 2013 and winning the IRB Junior World Championship title with the squad later that year.

On 10th June 2013, Barrow signed for Newcastle Falcons on a two-year contract from the 2013-14 season.

However, he was granted an early release, to sign for Leicester Tigers from the 2015-16 season.

He went on to make 28 appearances during his debut season and re-signed with the club until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Barrow was shortlisted for Young Player and Newcomer of the Year in his debut season at Welford Road, before being nominated for Supporters’ Player of the Year in 2017.

In March 2018, Barrow joined La Rochelle as a medical joker and released from his contract with Leicester, he made 52 appearances before making the move.

Barrow will make the short trip across the East Midlands to link up with Northampton Saints for the 2018-19 season.

In March 2019, Northampton Saints announced that Barrow left the club by Mutual consent.
