Masoe began his Super Rugby career at the Hurricanes in 2002 and amassed 62 caps and 8 tries over the course of 6 seasons.
Prior to his Super Rugby careers, he was vital member of the New Zealand 7's side that won gold at the 2002 commonwealth games.
In 2008, he made the move to Castres where he became a well-loved regular on the field, earning himself a massive 118 caps over 4 seasons.
In 2012, it was confirmed that he will make the move to Toulon, where a year later he won the Heineken Cup against Clermont. Masoe has 20 All Black caps to his name from the 2005-2007 seasons.
In June 2015, Former All Blacks back-row Masoe has confirmed he is to leave European champions Toulon to play at Top 14 rivals Racing Metro next season.
It will be the 36-year-old Masoe's third French club after he turned out for Castres between 2008-2012.
In May 2017, Masoe brought an end to his glittering career with the Parisian club.
