Gibbon played in combined country side which played against the British and Irish Lions in their 2014 tour down under after impressing for the Southern Districts Shute Shield team.
2009 New South Wales Country Junior Player of the Year Alex Gibbon has excelled in the 15 and 7 aside format of the game. Gibbon has previous experience in the Aussie 7’s team, earning his first cap in the Gold Coast stop of the 2013-2014 HSBC World Series.
