6Nations defending champions Ireland made it two wins from two after outclassing Scotland away in the second round of the 2025 edition of the tournament. Here are some of the games most defining moments on the day.
2mins: A knock-on by Scotlands Duhan van der Merwe would have seen the South African-born winger make an interception that would have been a guaranteed try.
5mins: Bundee Aki also knocks the ball forward after receiving a pass from an Ireland lineout on the Scottish 5m, but were fortunate to have a penalty advantage. This worked in their favour as the Irish resumed off a scrum and scored a minute later through winger Calvin Nash.
9mins: Ryan Baird is taken off for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA). He never returned and was replaced by Jack Conan
12mins: A knock-on in the Scottish midfield saw Nash and van Der Merwe chase down a ball that was heading straight into Scotlands try area. A challenge by van der Merwe was reviewed upstairs for a penalty try. However referee James Doleman determined there weren't enough grounds for a penalty try resulting in an Ireland penalty and a van der Merwe yellow card.
14mins: Scotland hold up an Ireland maul in their own try line after van der Merwe's penalty.
19mins: Sam Prendergrast pressured Blair Kinghorn and made a momentum shifting block resulting in a penalty for the Irish again in Scotlands 22
20mins: The Scotts hold up the visitors again on their own tryline still with 14 men.
21mins: Finn Russell is taken off for a HIA after an accidental clash with teammate D'arcy Graham. Stafford McDowell was brought in to replace Russell, however things looked more grim for D'arcy Graham who was stretchered off the field. Jamie Dobie was brought on to replace the right-wing.
27mins: Prop Andrew Porter makes Ireland's 3rd charge down from an attempted Scotland clearance kick. Meanwhile, Scotland contemplate whether or not to bring Finn Russell back or not, but eventually opted not to.
32mins: Jamison Gisbson-Park finds a charging Caelan Doris who powered over the Scottish tryline, scoring a second try for the visitors.
35mins: Scotland lose their own lineout on Irelands 5, which sees Irish winger James Lowe boot the ball away into safety. However the Scotts rallied to attack again, and were gifted a penalty one minute later within range in front of the posts, but opted to find touch.
37mins: Ireland get payback by holding up the home teams maul from the resulting lineout, and are rewarded with a penalty.
40mins: After the Irish were caught off their feet, prop Finlay Bealham opted to make the quick tap which paid off as the ensuing breakdown saw a backline ball played to Huw Jones who and exceptional offload to van der Merwe who made an even more exceptional finish to score Scotland first try in the corner with the clock in the redzone.

42mins: Scotland are first to get on the board in the second half through an early Blair Kinghorn penalty.
47mins: Jamison Gibson-Park makes a try saving tackle on Kinghorn, but spectators will be wondering if he should have passed to van der Merwe on the outside. At the same time Referee Coleman reviewed a Henshaw tackle that was deemed a deliberate knock-on by Robbie Henshaw in a tackle. However it was deemed to have been a fair attempt in the tackle.
48mins: Kinghorn cuts the deficit to six points after scoring a penalty.
53mins: James Lowe extends the lead for Ireland finishing a well executed backline set-piece led by Sam Prendergast.
57mins: Jack Conan extends Irelands lead with another try for the visitors as they begin to runaway with the game.
68mins: Scotland give away a penalty for delaying at the scrum in the centre of the field, and were swiftly punished by Prendergast who was in range and added 3 points from the boot.
75mins: Ben White scores a consolation try for the Scotts and Kinghorn converts but the deficit is too big and time to little for them to mount a comeback charge.
âď¸ History is on the cards for this Irish team as they chase an unprecedented third consecutive 6 Nations title
