After a sea-saw first half, Wasps and the Newcastle Falcons could not be separated with the score deadlocked at 22-22 at halftime. Newcastle opened the scoring with an early penalty, but Wasps ran in three quick tries to lead 19-3. However Newcastle Falcons responded with three tries of their own to edge ahead 22-19. A late Wasps penalty sees things even at the break.
